The Oscars 2014
Another Academy Awards show has come and gone. In true Oscar tradition, hosting hilarity ensued, at least one person couldn’t read the teleprompter, Adele Dazeem made her official debut, and there were a few outstanding acceptance speeches. The fashion choices garnered the most attention, as they usually do. Overall, it was a pretty safe night for everyone. There weren’t a lot of styling homeruns, but there weren’t many flops either.
Lupita Nyong’o was a princess for the night, and not just because of her ice blue Cinderella Prada gown. Not only did she win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (12 Years a Slave), but she gave a total tear-jerker acceptance speech (as did Jared Leto), but the film also won the Oscar for Best Picture.
If looks could kill, Charlize Theron would have slayed us a long time ago. The forever smizing Theron was drop-dead gorgeous in floor-length Dior and $15 million dollars worth of jewels!
Emma Watson is flawless as far as I’m concerned. This Vera Wang gown is simple, but it looks fabulous with Emma’s oxblood manicure and excessive rings. Her relaxed hairstyle saves this from going in the dowdy direction. Bravo!
Versace and Kate Hudson are a match made in heaven. Kate ditched the cape when she presented, but this gown has everything and in all of the right places. The plunge is perfect and the bodice fits flawlessly.
