Versace Spring Couture 2014
Versace consistently puts out fantastic garments and their Spring Couture 2014 collection has kept the label’s reputation right on track. Aside from their classic skin-baring necklines and slits, there was another element of wonder to the collection: hoods.
The hoods added mystery to the collection (and who manages to pull that off better than Karlie? Not many). Most reviews of the collection were targeting Grace Jones as the source of inspiration, but I was taken back to 1939. Joan Crawford’s The Women frequently features hooded frocks, and as I was watching the runway show I could picture Rosalind Russell shrieking over the phone and Paulette Goddard throwing punches in Reno.
