Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013

The 2013 awards season has been pretty tame in terms of fashion. I’ve had a lot of favorite looks, and not many “fashion fails” (always a good thing). But before I get to my favorite looks from the SAG Awards, and brace yourselves because I have eight, I need to talk about the man of the hour.

Dick Van Dyke
With a film, stage and television career spanning seven decades, Dick Van Dyke was presented with the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award. This man was literally my entire childhood. Like most children, I grew up with Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. But even as an eleven year old, Diagnosis Murder was, and still is, one of my favorite shows, and Bye Bye Birdie was a constant obsession. Of all Lifetime Achievement Awards given, this one may be one of the most deserving.

Not to say that Dick doesn’t look perfectly spiffy, but I wanna see some dresses! Here’s a novel list of my best dressed!

Ellie Kemper is my best dressed of the night. There! I said it! I wasn’t expecting it, but it happened. This Reem Acra sea-foam dress was beautiful and playful, just like her!

Naya Rivera was on everyone’s radar in Donna Karan Atelier, and for good reason. Girlfriend is lookin’ hot!

Nicole Kidman came so close to being my best dressed. The Giambattista Valli gown, paired with the emerald green earrings were the perfect combo.

Dear Katrina Bowden, I have no idea what t.v. show you’re in, but I love the Badgley Mischka dress you’re in!

Okay, I know there’s a lot of navy blue here, but I couldn’t leave out Amanda Seyfried’s Zac Posen gown.

Pam cleans up nice! It’s going to be a sad day when The Office’s final episode airs this season. Jenna Fischer rocked her final SAG as a paper saleswoman in Jenny Packham.

Nina Dobrev’s Elie Saab gown is a little reminiscent of Emma Stone’s 2011 Globes dress. Regardless, Elie Saab is my all time favorite gown designer and she looks great!
